Material : Made from 100% naturally occurring material - Diatomaceous earth.
This is an Earthstone Mat made from Diatomite. It is a naturally occurring, soft, sedimentary rock. It is highly absorbent and perfect for soaking up water from wet feet.
Originating from the Cretaceous Period, Diatomaceous Earth can be found in oceans and lakes. The water contains fossilised residues of tiny, aquatic organisms, called diatoms.
The earth mat is created through the process of diatom formation, preservation, and sedimentation. This transforms the powdery substance into a strong, hard-wearing bath mat.
Diatomite's high porosity makes it the perfect addition to soak up moisture from a bathroom, as its highly absorbent composition will leave your feet dry in seconds.
GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard)
The GOTS certification is for organic textile and fiber providers, clothing, and distributors, particularly for cotton. For the "made with organic materials" accreditation, the product must have at least 70% certified organic fiber and 95% certified organic fibers for the "organic" designation. They also allow "organic in conversion" for three years. The certification is required for the processing stage to manufacturing, packing, labeling, trade, and distribution. The processing must include a display of the surroundings.View More Close
